The Design People on Inc. 5000 List with Three-Year Sales Growth of 598%

Inc. magazine ranked The Design People No. 538 on the 2008 Inc. 5000, its annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in America.

“We’re thrilled that The Design People has achieved this distinction,” said CFO Jon Krabbe. “From the very beginning we set our sights on being the best at what we do and we see our rise in the ranks of the Inc. 5000 as a sign that we’re several steps closer to our goal.”

This is the second year running that The Design People has earned a place on the list. In 2007, The Design People ranked 687th on the Inc 5000 list, with a growth rate of 482.9%. In 2008, the company ranked 538th on the Inc. 5000 list, 39th in Advertising and Marketing, and 30th in its metro area. Its growth increased to 598.6%.

“Our talented web design and Internet marketing teams deserves all the credit for this honor. We’re very fortunate to have such an amazing, dedicated group of people,” said Tiger Bitanga, CEO of The Design People.

COO Luigi Amante added, “We’ve also grown because we’ve successfully helped our customers grow — using incredible designs to extend their brands and effective online marketing programs to boost sales.”

The 2008 Inc. 5000 ranks companies by their three-year sales revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent (not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies) as of December 31, 2007. They had to have achieved at least $200,000 in revenue in 2004 and $2 million in 2007.

According to Inc. 5000 Project Manager Jim Melloan, “The Inc. 5000 gives an unrivaled portrait of young, under reported companies across all industries doing fascinating things with cutting-edge business models, as well as older companies that are still showing impressive growth.”

The economy has not slowed the growth of these 5000 companies that range across industries from construction and manufacturing to IT services and business services, for a combined revenue of $185.4 billion and 334 percent growth.
